Aviation Safety

In our aviation operations, we have a long-established, industry-leading safety program which started with some of the first pipeline patrol aviation standards and matured into our modern Safety Management System. Our aircraft are maintained to charter airline standards, piloted by career pilots, and equipped with some of the latest safety equipment including TCAD, ADS-B, and electronic flight bags. We launched our Safety Management System in the fall of 2008, 7 years ahead of the FAA's requirement for SMS. We have had satellite tracking in our aircraft for nearly 20 years. We led the way in small aircraft with flight data monitoring systems and predictive measuring of flight performance. We take a risky job, identify the risk, control those risks, and produce the highest quality pipeline patrols and LiDAR data in the industry. Audited by numerous oil and gas firms and independent third parties, Forsite's aviation operations are the first choice among leading firms in the oil and gas and geospatial industries.

How Do We Do This?

We do this by having dedicated staff like a full-time Director of Operations, a full-time Director of Safety, airline-style dispatch procedures, training programs for flight and ground crews, an extraordinarily experienced maintenance team, and by producing and analyzing flight data from partners like SMSPro, Vellox Group, and Air Trail, to name just a few.

Forestry Safety

Forsite has been SAFE certified with the BC Forest Safety Council since 2007, COR safety certified by the Alberta Government in partnership with the Alberta Safety Council since 2018, and COR certified with the Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association since 2021.

How Do We Do This?

This process includes development of a full corporate safety plan, assessments of workplace hazards, OSHA standards compliance, and development of related procedures. Employees are empowered to manage their safety situation reporting any safety concerns to their manager and the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee for immediate attention. Field staff are supported to gain 1st aid CPR certifications. Safety concerns, near misses, or incidents are tracked and managed to ensure resolution and an overall reduction in safety challenges.
